Suria Capital Holdings Bhd – SURIA (6521). Suria Capital Berhad is a public company listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Berhad. Listed in 1996, the company was originally established as a financial conglomerate with the Sabah Development Bank Berhad and Sabah Bank Berhad operates under its wing. However, after a major corporate restructuring, the company changed its business focus to a new dynamic sector, namely port services. The strategic move was made possible after the successful acquisition of the business operations of major ports in Sabah Sabah Ports Authority through the privatization of a major exercise in 2004. He was one of the most important milestones that the forms of capital Suria address business today.
With the acquisition of port operations, Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd (SPSB) was established as a wholly owned subsidiary of Suria Capital. Besides SPSB, Suria Capital also ventured into other areas of growth related to their core business, taking advantage of current trends and development. It has created four other subsidiaries, namely Bumiria Suria Sdn Bhd, SCHB Engineering Services Sdn Bhd, SP Satria Sdn Bhd and Suria Sdn Bhd TriCubes Through these subsidiaries, Suria Capital is involved in several strategic sectors, namely commercial property development, tourism, construction and infrastructure as well as information and communication technology. Another subsidiary established, namely, SP Satria Logistics Sdn Bhd is involved in the trade of petroleum products to domestic and international clients, as well as logistics services and supply.
With this positioning, Suria Capital as a publicly-listed company is determined to continue working towards a better shareholder value, while actively contributing to economic growth in Sabah in particular and the national economic agenda in whole.
