Hexza Corporation Berhad, originally known as Norsechem (M) Sdn. Bhd. (Norsechem), was incorporated on June 25, 1969 as a limited liability company in a joint venture between two Norwegian companies, Overseas Company Ltd. A / S Jotun Odd Gleditsch (now known as A / C Jotungruppen) and an interest in Malaysia, the Summit Holdings Sdn. Bhd began operations with an authorized capital of RM10, 000,000 divided into 10,000,000 ordinary shares of RM1.00 each.

After undergoing a reorganization plan in 1979 under the New Economic Policy, was successfully conducted a public issue of 1,700,000 ordinary shares of RM1.00 each at par to the public in Malaysia on August 18, 1979. The Company was admitted to the Official List of the Stock Exchange of Kuala Lumpur on October 13, 1979.

The business of the company consisted of the manufacture and distribution of synthetic resins, industrial glues and a whole range of urea-formaldehyde and phenol-formaldehyde products.

The products originally manufactured by the company and sold under the brand “Noramin ‘and’ Norphen ‘, are well known among industrial users of adhesives. The market for these products includes manufacturers of plywood, plywood, Blockboard, mass production and furniture industries covered truck rolled.

On November 8, 1983, the nominal value of shares has increased from RM1.00 to RM0.50. On January 1, 1986, the company transferred its business and assets relating to the manufacture of adhesives to a subsidiary, Norsechem Resins Sdn. Berhad. On July 24, 1986, changed to its present name of Hexza Corporation Berhad.
